Ames High School Softball

The 2016 Ames High Softball season presented itself with many upsides as the program moves toward the 2017 season. The 2016 varsity roster consisted of just two seniors and three juniors of the sixteen players. The relatively young Little Cyclones made great strides throughout the season; continuously working hard and competing with the best teams in the state. The Little Cyclones finished a very challenging season schedule with a 15 and 23 record, with over 75% of their opponents finishing the season ranked in the top 15 of their class. The Little Cyclones tallied at 9 and 1 record against their opponents who concluded the season unranked. The Little Cyclones are looking forward to the 2017 softball season; we’ll be returning several key players that will be relied upon to continue to take Ames High Softball to the next level.

Recognized for their hard work and efforts during the season were the following: First-team CIC North Division : Maddie Lynch and Savannah Perry

Second-team CIC North Division: Anna Myers, Izzy Collins, Ashley Nethers, Jewels Buss, and Izzy Rogers

Honorable Mention CIC North Division: Bella Guyll, Macee Buss, and Julia Stevens
