PARENTS & STUDENTS

Please be aware that the required statewide testing will be during the week of March 30-April 3.  During this time students are not allowed to have their phones or other devices that can record the test, other than their laptop, while they are testing.  This will require that students leave their phones outside of the classroom during the testing or be willing to turn their phones into the staff member monitoring the test.  We know that our students are reluctant to have someone else have their phones, but this is a state requirement.  All phones that staff may monitor during the test will be turned off and staff will not access any portion of a student’s phone.  Please understand that we do not want to have any conflict or concerns that may impact our students testing ability and the student/staff discussion on turning in a phone is one area that can cause a student to lose their focus.  With this advanced information students and parents can make the proper arrangements for the management of students cell phones.

PARENT HELP IS ESSENTIAL TO MAKE POST PROM POSSIBLE

It’s hard to imagine that Prom is just around the corner! It takes a village to host an epic (free) party to keep our kids entertained (and safe!) after the big dance.  Please visit

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f044bacae2cab9-ames  to find how you can help to make the event possible.

Post Prom starts at midnight on Sunday, April 19, and is held at Ames High School.  It is open to all Juniors/Seniors and their dates, whether they attend the dance itself or not.  All of the games, entertainment, food and prizes require the participation of lots (and lots!) of parents to help in various ways throughout the weekend.  You can also donate by Venmo @AmesHigh-PostProm or by check payable to Ames High Post Prom and mailed to Karen Rosser, 3109 Sycamore Road, Ames, IA 50014.

Thank you for clicking the link above to offer your support!
