SACRE is hosting an end-of-the-semester celebration. Join us Saturday, January 15th from 4:30-6:30 for a SOUL SKATE at Ogden’s Spinning Wheels Skating Rink. Break out your neon, glow sticks, and best 80’s attire and come skate to some of the best Soul songs from the 80’s thru today! Admission is $5 and tickets will be available both at school and at the door. Capacity is limited though, so don’t wait too long to buy your tickets! 

Juniors and Seniors: There are 84 of you who earned the Ames High Academic Award and have not picked up your letter or pin. Please stop by Student Services soon.

Students, if you need access to the Cafeteria or the Main Office when the gate is down, please use the door inside student services. The door is clearly marked with a yellow sign. Please do not walk through student services and the administrative offices to get to the Main Office.

Students – Please check the bulletin board/wall outside of student services for a Summer Job opportunity at the Ames Golf and Country Club.

Juniors! Are you interested in planning the BEST PROM EVER? We will begin planning for Prom 2022 in the second semester, and anyone in the junior class is welcome to help. Please fill out the interest form to express your interest. You will be contacted at a later date about the first prom meeting. Please contact Mrs. Zeiss in room 229 if you have any questions. 

Raising Readers in Story County is seeking volunteer tutors to promote literacy skills for kindergarten through fourth-grade students. Sessions run from the weeks of January 31st to April 25th. To sign up for tutoring, talk to Mr. Gorman. If you have questions, contact Jerri Heid at jerriheid@gmail.com.

Scratch Pad submissions are due Friday, March 4. You have 8 more weeks to submit any art, photography, poetry, or short narrative pieces to this year’s publication. Email submissions to ahsscratchpad@ames.k12.ia.us.

The University of Chicago has Summer Session Programs which are designed for high school students who are ready to tackle undergraduate-level material. The University of Chicago also offers scholarship programs that provide students the opportunity to participate in a Summer Session course free of charge.
