The Ames High 2019 Speech Showcase and end of year celebration will be held on April 30 at 6 pm in the auditorium. Light refreshments will be provided followed by awards and a showcase of speech participants from this year. All are welcome to come see All-State nominated performances as well as performances by those receiving 1-ratings at State. 

Any Machine Safety students from 1st semester who would like to enter their projects in the Technology Expo at Southeast Polk this year, see Mr. Jahn or Mr. Scaramellino before Friday, May 3rd.

Did you forget to bring in your items for the hygiene and office supply drive last week? Don’t fret, items can still be dropped off in the box in the principal’s office until the end of the day this Thursday.

Attention THIS YEAR’S senior mentors! Today is your last senior mentor HR day. Please go visit your ninth graders and say goodbye!


Buy your $3 raffle ticket for a chance to win a 2018/2019 Yearbook before and after school and during both lunches in the main lobby.

Seniors, the Ames High School Alumni Association and the Ripp Family Scholarship applications are due on or before April 30th.

After school Math support is available in room 212 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-5:30 PM.

April 25th right after school, Mrs. Edster’s room, bring your own Lettuce, be there or be square.

Seniors: Applications for student performers at baccalaureate are in the principal’s office. Applications are due by May 1st.

The Empower, Enrich, & Excel Summer Program (formerly Summer School and Super Summer) has openings for volunteers for the three-week program (June 11-14, June 17-21, and June 24-28). The sign-up sheet is located in the ELP Alcove in the Media Center. The deadline to sign up to volunteer is May 20. If you have any questions, please see Nicole Kuhns or Catherine Monroe.

Buy raffle tickets before or after school and during both lunches for $1 for each ticket and $5 for 6 in the main lobby to get a chance to win up to $70 worth of gift cards, meal vouchers, and more. All proceeds will go to a mental health related non-profit.

Tomorrow for Green Week is Thrifty Thursday, wear thrifty clothes! CAUSE will also be holding a “clothing swap.” Bring clothes that you don’t wear/wear anymore and swap it for something new in Mr. Reichart’s room after school!

SPRING PLAY

Come to this spring’s production of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon by Don Zolidis – a zany compilation of Grimm’s Fairy Tales with a modern twist.   Shows are April 26 and 27 beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 for high school and older and $4.00 for 8th grade and younger.
