PARENT REMINDERS ABOUT ISASP TESTING

During the week of April 1st – 5th, we will be conducting the new state assessment, ISASP, which is an online assessment. The schedule for next week was sent out through Infinite

Campus earlier this week. Due to the changes with this new assessment, there are a few reminders for parents during this week:

• No cell phones or smartwatches are allowed in the testing rooms. Please help your students understand this is a very important rule and please remember to refrain from texting your students during the tests. If you have to get a message to your student, please contact the AHS Main Office.

• If students want to use headphones on the assessment, they should bring them in but there will be no Bluetooth headphones allowed for the test. All students will have access to the

Text to Speech tool that is builtin to the test if they have headphones. Headphones will be provided, if needed, for students that have that requirement stated on a 504 or IEP.

• Seniors who ride the bus will be able to be in the Cafeteria during testing but all other Seniors should be away from the building at this time. Any Senior who is in the building during testing must be in the Cafeteria and should not be on any electronic device to reduce unnecessary bandwidth usage during this online assessment.

• You can see the practice questions for the ISASP at http://iowa.pearsonaccessnext.com/test-prep/•

PARENTS, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY AS THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DISRUPT THE TESTING PERIOD TO PULL A STUDENT FOR A LAST MINUTE APPOINTMENT.

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT FOR PARENTS OF JUNIORS

On Wednesday, April 3rd, the counselors will host a Financial Aid Night at 7:00 PM in the AHS

Cafeteria. A representative from the College Planning Center will be available to explain the procedure to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the many steps involved in the financial aid process. This is a very informative evening for senior parents to be (but all are welcome), with time allotted for a question and answer session.
