Seniors, you have until 3:00 today to vote for the 4 teachers you want to read names at graduation. Check your email and cast your vote.

Any student interested in auditioning for the Feature Twirler position with the Ames High Marching band should stop by the band office to sign up and collect audition information.

Seniors who earned the Seal of Biliteracy are reminded to meet Mrs. Santiago in the Front Lobby at the beginning of Plus Period today for a group photo.
Ames High Young Americans for Freedom will be having a meeting today, during plus period in Mr. Krajnovich’s room (room 16). We will be discussing political polarization at Ames. Anyone interested in talking about current events or learning more about YAF should attend.
This year’s Speech Showcase will be held at the Ames High Auditorium on Thursday, April 28th at 7 pm. Come watch this year’s Ames High All-State nominated large group and individual performances. Admission is free, but we will be taking a free will donation to help fund next year’s contests.
Seniors: sign up to read your original speech during your graduation ceremony! Auditions will be held from 2:45-3:45 on both Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 28. Sign up in the Auxiliary office by 3:00 on Friday, April 22nd.
Attention Juniors! If you are interested in being a SENIOR MENTOR for next year, please sign up in Ms. DiBlasi’s office. Senior mentors help freshmen transition to high school by helping with the first day of school and visiting assigned homerooms. Please note that you will be asked to purchase a senior mentor t-shirt before the end of this school year.
If you and a partner would like to run for Student Council presidents for next year, pick up an application in the auxiliary office. The Student Council leads the student body, affects the school climate and serves as a liaison to administration so experience is helpful. Please see Ms. DiBlasi and Mr. Burke with questions.
Juniors and Seniors who have been issued a blue Furman parking tag, you may now bring your tag to the Main Office to exchange it for an orange, AHS student parking lot hang tag. Hang tag exchanges will only be granted for individuals without outstanding parking tickets. Please be prepared to pay off any tickets you may have prior to receiving your orange tag.
Students – Sgt. Kane with the Air Force will have a table in the main lobby during all three lunches on Wednesday, April 27.
Today’s lunch is Bean & Cheese Quesadilla and Mexicali Corn.
Next week Young Democrats, Ames High Independents, and Young Americans for Freedom will be holding a Voter Registration Drive. It will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the front entryway. Anyone 17 and older who is a Citizen may register. To register all you need is your driver’s licence number or your Social Security number. Come to the front entryway before school, after school, or during lunch to get registered and get a treat.
