Return to Learn Timeline
July 1, 2020 was the deadline to submit the District’s Return to Learn (RTL) plan to the Iowa Department of Education. As that is complete, we will continue with implementation. We have learned over the past several months that things can change very quickly. Here is a timeline of events you can expect from the Ames Community School District.
July 7 – Return to Learn Plan Released to Staff

July 13 – Staff Return to Learn Staff Informational Meeting (10:00 a.m.)
July 14 – Elementary and Preschool Return to Learn Community Meeting (5:30 p.m.)
July 15 – Middle School and High School Return to Learn Community Meeting (5:30 p.m.)
July 20 – Return to Learn Plan – Action Item for Board (postponed)

July 23 – Forms Available to Request Online Learning
July 27 – School Board Work Session at 5:30 p.m.
August 3 – School Board Meeting Approval of Return to Learn Model
August 7 – Building Return to Learn Implementation Plans Released to the Public
August 17 – School Board Meeting
August 18-20 – Building Return to Learn Meetings
