We put students first by supporting teachers and staff as they meet the needs of all students. Ames Schools guide students to be actively engaged in discovering their own knowledge through each stage of learning. By collaborating and sharing with their peers, our students experience learning that is authentic and challenging. They develop processes that allow them to problem-solve, reflect on and adjust their thinking, and use prior knowledge to construct new learning.
The State of Iowa has changed the requirements for substitute teacher authorization. The new law now allows anyone who has completed an associate’s degree or 60 semester hours through a regionally-accredited institution to be able to substitute teach.
The application process will prompt you to attach certain documents required for the position for which you’re applying.
