School Improvement Advisory Committee, required by Iowa Code 280.12, is an on-going committee comprised of students, parents, teachers, administrators, and representatives from the local community. The committee will meet four times during the school year to address items required by code such as establishing short and long-range goals for the district. It will also work to inform our community about other important work going on in our district. The committee will meet on the following dates at 6:00 pm in the boardroom of the district office.
Monday, November 11th, 2019
Monday, December 16th, 2019
Monday, February 17th, 2020
Monday, April 27th, 2020
Each meeting will be structured in the following way:
- Content Required by Code
- Systems Update
- Partner Update
In order to ensure representation required by code as well as voice from each building, each building principal will attend (APs may be asked to attend in lieu of principal if unavailable or by topic). Each building will identify 1 teacher and 1 parent to attend and secondary schools will identify 2 students per building to attend. The district will identify community members to invite.
