In his current position, Fedders supervises and evaluates extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including high school coaches. He prepares and manages an activities budget, helps coordinate school activities, is responsible for athletic scheduling, and ensures all programs followed district and state policies. He also serves as the liaison to the booster club and maintains the school’s athletic hall of fame. In addition to his athletic director experience, he has also served as a school improvement leader at East High. In that capacity, he oversaw professional learning community (PLC) meetings, implemented building-wide professional development, and assisted with implementing Iowa Assessment testing.
The Ames Community School District commits to equity and access that empowers every individual to reach their full personal and educational potential. Ames High has a strong tradition in athletics, fine arts, and student-led clubs. As a District, we are excited to work with Mr. Fedders and look forward to his leadership within the Ames Community School District and Ames High. His new position will begin on July 1, 2021.
