Mileage Club 2019-Volunteers still needed!

Mileage Club will begin on Monday, March 25! and go through May 20th! Mileage Club is sponsored by Mary Greeley to encourage students to walk/run at recess.  Students can earn special incentives along the way. Mileage Club will be held every Monday-Wednesday-Friday (pending weather) during the lunch recess.   If you are interested in helping out you can sign up here:

Each Monday-Wednesday-Friday we need volunteers, like yourself, to help out at Mileage Club! Volunteers will use an I-pad (I-pads are provided) to scan the students cards as they make laps during their lunch recess. The times are as follows: 5th grade 11:20-11:40 a.m. 1st grade 11:40-12:00 p.m. Kindergarten 12:05-12:25 p.m. 2nd  grade 12:25-12:45 p.m. 4th grade 12:45-1:05 p.m. 3rd grade 1:05-1:25

You can come and go as you need or as you have students participating! We will meet out front of the school. You will need to check in with the office before you begin scanning. Thank you so much for your support! Email Hannah Hannover if you have questions at:

A case of measles has been reported in Iowa.  This is the first case in our state since 2011 and is a good reminder to make sure that your family’s vaccines are up to date.  The measles vaccine is highly effective (the patient with measles was not vaccinated) and all school-aged children should have two MMR doses by the time they start kindergarten.

If a case of measles is identified in our school, public health officials will require all unvaccinated students and staff to remain at home until 21 days after their last possible exposure to measles.  Please make sure your family is protected.  Vaccines save lives.

For more information on measles, please visit: or contact your local health department.

Local McFarland Doctor Paschen shares a short message on measles.
