Kindergarten Parents: Free vision screenings will be offered to Kindergarten students by a local Lions Club on February 8th. Screenings are in conjunction with Iowa KidSight, and the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Vision screening produces images of a child’s eyes to determine presence of eye disorders. No physical contact is made with a child and no eye drops are used during the vision screening. No child will be screened without a signed and completed consent form. Consent forms were sent home in your student’s folder. Please return forms before February 7th.
3rd Grade Parents: A free dental program will be offered at Meeker on February, 25th. This program is offered through Mid-Iowa Community Action, Inc. (MICA) for all children in 3rd grade. This program involves a dental screening by a licensed dental hygienist, dental sealants and fluoride application. The program will be provided at no cost to you or the school. Permission forms were sent home after winter break. No child will be screened without a signed and completed form. Please return forms before February 24th.
