The Ames High School Girls Tennis Team enters 2016 with a new Coach and excitement following a Team State Quarterfinalist appearance in 2015, and Judith Fan placing 7th at the State Tournament in Singles. Fan also teamed up with Andrew Ellis to place 2nd at the State Co-Ed Tennis Tournament. The Little Cyclones look to continue their winning tradition that helped them win 4 Consecutive Team State Championships from 2009-2012.
Coach Dustin Rhoads will be in his 1st season leading the Ames High School Little Cyclones Girls Tennis Team. Dustin is a graduate of Ames High School in 2010, where he was a 4-time State Tennis Qualifier, a State Champion in Doubles in 2009, and a member of the Ames High School Boys Tennis Team that was State Runner-Up in 2010.
Rhoads attended the University of Iowa and was in the Business School focusing on Recreation & Sport Business and Coaching, where he graduated in 2014. Dustin swam for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes where he was a 4-time School Record Holder, Academic All-American, All-Big Ten Conference, and a 2012 & 2016 U.S.A. Swimming Olympic Trials Qualifier. Dustin previously worked as the Head Age Group Swim Coach for Ames Cyclones Aquatics Club, and as an Assistant Swimming Coach at Texas Christian University. He currently is also a Coach for the Ames High School Girls and Boys Swimming Teams.
We encourage everyone to come out to one of our home matches at the AHS tennis courts this season.
