AMES HIGH SCHOOL 32nd ANNUAL ACADEMIC LETTERS PROGRAM
Ames High School’s 32nd annual Academic Letters Program is Monday, October 29th,
in the High School cafeteria starting at 6:00 PM.

PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCE TIMES
Monday Nov. 5th, 3:45 – 7:50 PM
Wednesday Nov. 7th, 3:45 – 7:50 PM
Thursday Nov. 8th, 8:00 – 12:00 PM

If you have Internet access, follow the directions below and you may start signing up for
conferences Monday, October 29, at 7:00 AM. Any parent/guardian without Internet
access may call Abby Evans (817-0620) and she will help them schedule their
conferences.

1. Copy the following address to your web browser. It will take you to a Parent/Student
login for scheduling parent/teacher conferences.
https: //www.myschoolsystems.com/ames/AHS/conferences.php
There will also be a link to the Parent/Teacher Conference Scheduler Program on the
Ames High web page.

2. Enter your student’s formal first and last name. Your PASSWORD is your student’s
date of birth. For example: if your student’s birthday is Feb. 4, 2004, enter 2/4/2004 —
include the in-between slashes.(If a student is from a split family or if the husband and
wife are going to attend separate conferences, please call Abby Evans (817-0620) and
she will create computer access for the second parent.)
3. The student’s schedule will appear. Enter your email address (bottom of screen) and
click SUBMIT EMAIL ADDRESS. This will enable you to receive an email reminder of
the conferences you have scheduled.

4. Click SCHEDULE to the right of any class you want to schedule a conference. The
teacher’s available times will appear. Pick the time you want – open circles (radio
buttons) are available to be selected — and click SCHEDULE TIME at the bottom of the screen.

5. If you realize you need to change the time, go to the student’s schedule. To the right
of the conference you want to change, click on CHANGE. Then click cancel conference
with this teacher; then SCHEDULE TIME to save the change you just made. If you want
a different time, go back to Step 4.

6. When scheduling conferences, remember there is no passing time between
conferences. Music will play over the PA system when there are 2 minutes until the next
conference. When the music stops, the next conference should begin. If you must travel
from one end of the building to the other, you will likely want to leave an open slot
between conferences or shorten the amount of time you spend in the conference.

7. Please honor the conference times you schedule. If you are unable to attend a
conference you have scheduled, please cancel as soon as possible. You can
cancel on-line or call Abby Evans (817-0620) to cancel the conference for you.
This will allow another family to schedule that time slot and it keeps the teacher
from turning away another parent because the time slot was being saved for you.
Canceling as soon as you know you won’t be able to attend a conference shows
consideration for other families who are trying to see the same teacher.

NO SCHOOL DUE TO DISTRICT WIDE WORKSHOP DAY
