Thursday Jan 11. 2018 : No Classes or Activities

Thursday’s scheduled semester exams will be held on Friday.

Monday, January 15, would remain as our professional development day.

Tuesday, January 16, would be a workday.

2nd Semester classes will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 17

The Jefferson Wrestling Invite at Greene County High School on Saturday, January 13 has been CANCELLED.

STUDENTS WILL USE THEIR 2ND SEMESTER SCHEDULE FROM THE PORTAL

Tuesday, January 16, the first day of 2nd semester, will have a normal schedule with PLUS period. Each student has a computer and can access her/his 2nd semester schedule on the portal. We do not hand out a printed schedule to begin the 2nd semester.

Acceleration forms for students entering grades 9-12 interested in pursuing acceleration in the 2018-19 school year are now available. These forms can be accessed online via the Ames High School ELP Page or in the ELP Alcove at AHS. Forms are due to the ELP office located in MC-3 by February 9. Late applications will not be accepted.

The Little Cyclone Spirit Store will be open on Thursday from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Stop in and pick up those last minute gifts and then stick around to cheer on your Boys Swim team as they battle Mason City in the Ames High Pool at 5 p.m. Go Little Cyclones!

Students,  if you are interested in learning about the Ames LaCrosse Club, please see Mr. Junck, or any lacrosse player you know.  There will be a  camp over break.  It goes from Tuesday, Dec. 26th through Friday, Dec. 28th.   Cost is $10 per day or all 4 days for $30.

PSAT results are available in Student Services.  Please see Mrs. Evans to pick up your results.

Ames Lacrosse Club is hosting a winter camp at Sports Iowa.  If you are interested in learning about it, please see Mr. Junck, Kevin Maxwell, Mitchell Shulman, or any lacrosse player you know.  The camp starts Tuesday, Dec. 26th and ends Friday, Dec. 28th – each day from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.  Cost is $10 per day or all 4 days for $30.  Equipment will be provided – but if you have your own please bring it.  If you have questions, see Mr. Junck, Kevin Maxwell, Mitchell Shulman, or any lacrosse player.  They can also provide you with an online link for sign up.  

Remember to wear your spirit wear (Orange & Black) and bring a bottle of Gatorade to any home wrestling meet so you can get in free.   Help cheer on our AHS Wrestlers on Dec. 19 at 6:30 pm and Jan. 11 at 5:30 pm! Go Little Cyclones!!

Ames High School National Art Honor Society is selling  2018 calendars with images of their work for art work.   The calendar cost $5.00, and they make great gifts.   Talk to the Art Teachers if you want buy one.
