The Fall Orchestra Concert is Thursday, November 1st at 7:30 pm in the AHS
auditorium. Please join us for a wonderful evening of delightful string music with
guest musicians. Tickets are: $3.00 for students, $5.00 for adults and $10.00 for
a family.

There will be a meeting for all boys trying out for basketball grades 9-12
Thursday right after 8th period in the Multi purpose room. If you can't make it or
have questions see Coach Downs.

Hey guys! We just wanted to let you know that Tucheze this year is November
7th from 8:30-11 in the cafeteria. Tucheze is an annual informal fundraiser dance
hosted by SHEPH. The admission is $10. This year the theme is Go Greek!
Hope to see you all there!  

Freshmen, if you ordered a Yearbook last year at the Middle School, you can
pick it up from Mrs. Packer in the principal’s office.

All students interested in going out for wrestling or becoming a wrestling
manager will meet immediately after school this Thursday, November 1 st at 3:15
in the athletics video class room. If you cannot attend or have any questions
please see Coach Fecht.  

Attention students planning to take the ACT or SAT this fall:  Mr. Webb and Mrs.
Engelkes are offering an ACT/SAT Prep Class starting November 12th.  The cost
of the class is $35.00 payable by check.  For more information and to sign up,
please see Mrs. Evans in Student Services.  

Musical Auditions for “Fiddler on the Roof” will be held on Tuesday, November
13.  Please see Mrs. Dieter in the Choir Room for audition materials and
information.

Please check the board outside of Student Services for college representatives
this week.

Today at 1:00 is Briar Cliff University.

Lastly, our regular Daily Notes reader will read all announcements; there are no
more special announcements. If you have an announcement you would like read,

Attention senior mentors, today is a senior mentor homeroom day. Go visit your 9th graders.

Blood Fact of the Day: Less than 10 percent of the eligible U.S. population donates annually and there is no substitute for human blood. Senior Senate will hold its semi-annual blood drive on Friday, October 26 from 8:00 to 2:00.  You can register in the front lobby or room 26. This is a great opportunity to help save a life…so please, take time and donate!!

Attention students planning to take the ACT or SAT this fall:  Mr. Webb and Mrs. Engelkes are offering an ACT/SAT Prep Class starting November 12th.  The cost of the class is $35.00 payable by check.  For more information and to sign up, please see Mrs. Evans in Student Services.  

Anyone interested in swimming for the boys swim team this winter needs to attend an informational meeting this TODAY after school outside the pool entrance.  If you cannot attend this meeting, please see Coach Flannery in room 18.

Congratulations to the following Ames High School Athletes that have made the Iowa Cheerleading Coaches Associations’ All State Cheerleading Squad:

Alissa Hoover, Joscelyn Buss, Jewels Buss and Hannah Heindel. Hannah Kruger was named Honorable Mention. 200 girls auditioned from all over the state of Iowa and 32 were selected to the team. The All State Cheerleading team performs at the finals of the Boys State Basketball tournament. Congratulations girls!

Do you want to be part of the prom committee to help plan the best prom EVER? Come to Room 229 to write down your name and email on the sign up sheet. You must be in the junior class to be on the prom committee.

Winter Cheer tryouts will be held SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20th from 1:00-5:00 pm in the AHS Spirit Room. Attendance is required at the October 20th practice/tryouts in order to become a member of the team. 
Please wear athletic or cheer shoes as well as shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Pick up a tryout packet in the athletic office. Packets must be turned in on the day of tryouts!

Girls Who Code meets tonight from 6:00-8:00 in the Danfoss Room of the Public
Library. If you're interested in coding or technology, come check it out. We hope
to see you there!

special gift for children facing challenges. If you are interested in participating in
