To wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week, here is a small sampling of what teachers said they did for students:

I had a student in first period who struggled with getting to school on time. On my way to school, I would pick him up and bring him so he would make it!

One of my seniors moved in with me at the beginning of 2nd semester senior year because he/she had nowhere to go and wanted to finish high school here.

When a student was gone for an extended illness, I would go to her home twice a week to help tutor her.

I’ve provided meals for hungry students.

Let’s thank our teachers for all they do both inside and outside of the classroom!

Congrats to the Ames High Boys Tennis Team on their District Championship. 4 individuals qualified for State Tennis. Tim Ellis and John Kim in Singles, Nick Matthews and Nate Withers in Doubles!

Looking for a volunteer opportunity this summer? Consider signing up for the Harrison Barnes Reading Academy Summer Reading Buddies! Please see contact Mrs. Kuhns for more information or look for an informational flyer regarding volunteer sign-up!
