Congratulations to the following Ames High School Athletes that have made the Iowa Cheerleading Coaches Associations’ All State Cheerleading Squad:

Alissa Hoover, Joscelyn Buss, Jewels Buss and Hannah Heindel. Hannah Kruger was named Honorable Mention. 200 girls auditioned from all over the state of Iowa and 32 were selected to the team. The All State Cheerleading team performs at the finals of the Boys State Basketball tournament. Congratulations girls! 

Attention students planning to take the ACT or SAT this fall:  Mr. Webb and Mrs. Engelkes are offering an ACT/SAT Prep Class starting November 12th.  The cost of the class is $35.00 payable by check.  For more information and to sign up, please see Mrs. Evans in Student Services.

Attention senior mentors, Wednesday is a senior mentor homeroom day. Go visit your 9th graders. 

Anyone interested in swimming for the boys swim team this winter needs to attend an informational meeting this Wednesday, October 24 after school outside the pool entrance.  If you cannot attend this meeting, please see Coach Flannery in room 18.

Please support Ames High Wrestling by dining at Culver’s tonight from 5-7 p.m. Please mention Ames High Wrestling when ordering. A portion of sales will be donated to the wrestling program. 

Any student interested in taking AP Macroeconomics OR AP Microeconomics for the spring 2019 semester should stop in the ELP alcove to pick up an application. A student can only enroll in one class per semester and must have ONE open period every day in their schedule. All applications are due tomorrow .
