Attention Sophomores and Juniors.  Are you interested in getting high school and college credit while exploring potential career opportunities?  DMACC Career Academy at the Hunziker Center in Ames can provide several options.   Bring your lunch and join us for a “Lunch and Learn” session during your lunch period on Wednesday, January 31 in the multi-purpose room.   A Student panel of Ames HIgh peers will speak about their Career Academy programs and learning experiences this year.   Hope to see you there.

TRACK & FIELD PRE-SEASON MEETING FEB 1st – (PLUS PERIOD)

Any girl or boy student who is interested in participating in Track & Field this spring for Ames High can attend the preseason information meeting Thursday Feb 1st during plus period in the gym. Students can sign up for plus period under the name Duea.

Congratulations to Ryan Jeong, who was the winner of the Senior string competition in Iowa of the Music Teacher’s National Association (MTNA) last November.  He won the divisional championship in the senior string category.  He will fly to Orlando, Florida in march to compete in the national finals at the annual conference.  Good Luck Ryan!

Congratulations to Evan Lewis and Paige Neutzling!  Their artwork has been selected to be exhibited in the 2018 Youth Art Month Show.   Their artwork will be on display at the State Historical Building throughout the month of March, with a reception on March 23rd.

Please make sure you bring your Activity Pass to Ames High Athletic Events. Each student must present his/her Activity Pass or pay admission at the gate. Come support your Little Cyclones!

FCA leadership will meet in Dobernecker’s room during 2nd lunch this THURSDAY, February 1.  If you would like to be involved in FCA leadership, please join us on Thursday during 2nd lunch.

Acceleration forms for students entering grades 9-12 interested in pursuing acceleration in the 2018-19 school year are now available. These forms can be accessed online via the Ames High School ELP Page or in the ELP Alcove at AHS. Forms are due to the ELP office located in MC-3 by February 9. Late applications will not be accepted.

Tickets for the winter musical, Babes in Arms, are now on sale in the main office.  Tickets are $10.00 for 9th grade and above; $8.00 for 8th grade and below.

State Swim tickets may be pre-purchased through the Athletic Office for $10. Tickets must be ordered and paid for BEFORE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2.  All tickets must be paid for at the time of order.
