CONTRACT FOR A GRADE WITH A PASS/FAIL OPTION
Monday, March 6 is the last day to sign up to take a class for a contract grade with a pass/fail option.

DANCE MARATHON
Dance Marathon is this Saturday from 8:00-11:00 PM in the Ames High Gym. Come for a fun night with activities, games, dancing, snacks, and meeting families benefiting from this cause! Dance Marathon is an event to honor and raise money for families of children who have life threatening illnesses. T-shirts are $10 and tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door. If you would like to make a donation, checks can be made out to “Ames High Dance Marathon” and brought to the dance on Saturday or to the main office next week. REGISTRATION FOR ADVANCED PLACEMENT EXAMS

Registration for AP exams will run through Monday, March 6. The cost per exam is $93. Preferred payment for the exam is a check made out to Ames High School. Late registration will not be accepted. Once the tests are ordered from College Board, there will be no refunds.

SCHOLARSHIPS
All of the local scholarships have now been advertised. Most scholarship deadlines are March 30th at 3:00 PM.  Please check the family connection website for more scholarship information. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Evans in Student Services.

AHS WINTER BAND CONCERT
The Ames High Bands will be presenting their Winter Band Concerts on Thursday, March 2 in the Ames High School Auditorium. The 6:30 PM concert will feature the Freshman Band directed by Andrew Buttermore and the Wind Symphony directed by Chris Ewan. The 8:00 PM concert will feature the Concert Band directed by Chris Ewan and the Symphonic Band directed by Andrew Buttermore. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and $10 for a family.

IOWA STATE’S K-12 COMPUTATIONAL THINKING COMPETITION
Iowa State is having a K-12 Computational Thinking Competition April 1, 2017 and it is open to K-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 graders. For more information please see the flyers in the ELP Alcove in the MC and/or visit the following website: http://www.cs.iastate.edu/iowa-k-12-outreach .

AMERICAN LEGION BOYS STATE
The American Legion is seeking names of junior boys interested in attending their week-long government camp, Boys State, to be held this June 11-16 at Camp Dodge near Des Moines.
