Sometimes we find who we are in a relationship. Sometimes we lose who we are in a relationship. Sometimes we get what we want in a relationship. Sometimes it is not our destiny. These are the themes the Ames High School Theatre Department will explore when they present John Cariani’s Love/Sick. Following the popularity of Almost Maine, Love/Sick is a series of nine vignettes that examine the lifecycle of love in various relationships. Beginning the evening is a one-act pre-show, The Fifteen Minute Hamlet by Tom Stoppard. Nine actors will recreate Shakespeare’s most infamous play in fifteen minutes. Shows are April 28 and 29 beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is $5 for high school and older and $4 for 8th grade and younger.

The Ames High School Vocal Music Department will present their annual Spring Concert at 7:30 PM on Monday, May 1 in the high school auditorium. The following choirs will be performing: Freshmen/Concert Choir, Treble Choir, Treble Chorale, Bass Choir and Concert Chorale. The choirs are under the direction of Steven Linn and Peggy Dieter.

The Ames High School Bands will be presenting a Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 2 at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM in the Ames High School Auditorium. The 6:30 PM concert features the Spring Jazz Project, the Ninth Grade Band and the Concert Band. The 8:00 PM concert features the Symphonic Band and the Wind Symphony. The bands are under the direction of Andrew Buttermore and Chris Ewan. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and $10 for a family.
