    About Ames High School :

  • 16 Ames High School students have been named 2011 National Merit Finalists in the National Merit Program.
  • In the AHS Class of 2011, there are 16 National Merit Semifinalists and 17 National Merit Commended Students
  • AHS has had a total of 13 Presidential Scholars.
  • Ames High School won the 2011 Ames Lab Science Bowl, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, and advanced to the National Science Bowl.
  • Ames High School has a Graduation rate of 93%.
  • ACT avg. of 24.8 and SAT avg. of 1261.
  • 71% of the Ames High Schools 2010 graduating class
    enrolled in four year colleges or universities.
  • An additional 20% continued their education at community colleges or vocational schools.
