Spring is just around the corner and so is the 2012 Ames High Little Cyclone softball season. When the girls take the field for their first practice on May 7th, the Little Cyclones will be kicking off a season full of high expectations that will prove to be full of excitement.  They will be looking to build off the 2011 softball season in which the Little Cyclones finished very strong and were merely one out away from participating in their first ever state softball tournament appearance.
The Little Cyclones will look to continue their improvement in anticipation of making some noise in the extremely difficult CIML Iowa Conference. The program returns no fewer than six softball players who made significant contributions to the program during the 2011 season.

Madison Mickelson – Second-Team All State; All District
Kate Crow – Third-Team All State, All District
Hunter Stohlmeyer - Honorable Mention All State
