“A Championship Tradition”
“Ames Hi, Aims High” is more than a motto for our athletes and fans. It is a standard of excellence to be reached by our teams, coaches and fans each contest and each season.
In terms of the number of State Championships, Ames High is well known among our colleagues in the state. Since 1927, our athletes have won (78) team titles in boy’s and girl’s athletics and have brought home (240+) event state titles. While no official records are kept for total state team championships or individual/event state champions we know of no other high school that has more of either.
