Ames High girl’s soccer is coming off a 5-7 2011 season with a lot of optimism for upcoming year. Although we graduated 12 seniors, we have a strong foundation returning with four players amongst the All-Conference teams. These players include Stella Maris Strohman , 1st team all conference midfielder, Emily Meese, 2nd team all conference defender, and honorable mentions going to both Kenna Kenton and Laura Friedrich. The fans can expect a talented young team to be quite exciting to watch. These young players will have to adapt to changing roles to account for the physical play of the CIML. The experience of our returning players, combined with the energy and enthusiasm of the underclassmen, will make this team fun to coach and worth cheering for in the stands.
