Welcome to the Fellows Elementary School website!

Welcome to Fellows Elementary School!  Our building, the largest elementary in Ames, serves 470 students in grades K-5.  Fellows is a place where students, families, and teachers work collaboratively to ensure all kids succeed!

Every classroom teacher at Fellows has been trained in The
Responsive Classroom Protocol.  The Responsive Classroom starts every morning with community building activities.  This 20 minute period at the beginning of the day allows students to get to know each other.  They are encouraged to embrace differences and similarities, and ultimately learn to be good to one another.

Our school is dedicated to ensuring all students learn at high levels.
By differentiating instruction and using research-based instructional strategies, we are able to celebrate high student achievement scores.  We offer Extended Learning (ELP), English as a Second Language, SUCCESS (Academic Support), as well as Chorus, Band, and Orchestra.

Student achievement ranks highest on our list of priorities. A close second, however, is developing caring, compassionate, thoughtful individuals.  It is our belief that we can empower students to become motivated, collaborative, amazing members of society!

If you have questions about our school or would like to visit, feel free to give me a call!
