2011-2012 BOARD GOALS

    • Facilities Goal
      The Board will develop a long-range, District-Wide master facilities plan by January 2012, which leads to a referendum by June 2012.

      Strategies and Related Actions:
      • Vet the proposed master plan with the parents, staff, and community.
      • Obtain input from parents, staff, and community members who voted in the 2011
      referendum to help shape a new referendum.
      • Plan and execute the liquidation of excess property.
      • Consider how the long-range plan referendums can be financed.

      Budget Goal

      The Board will sustain a balanced budget that is strategic, adequate, sustainable and predictable; supports the District mission, gives priority to academics, and maintains the unspent authorized budget within levels set in Board policy.

      Strategies and Related Actions:
      • Develop a collaborative framework between administrators and the Board to inform budget priorities for decision-making.

      Academic Goal
      The Board will encourage and support academic growth of all children at all learning levels through supporting classroom instruction according to the District Education Plan and/or Literacy Framework.

      Strategies and Related Actions:
      • Encourage and support the completion of beginning-of-year math formative
      assessments in all grades and courses by the end of June 2012.
      • Staff will review district, state, and national level data in concert with teachers and instructional coaches sharing how these data are used in PLCs to work with students.
      • Encourage and support student attendance and reduce tardiness to ensure students have the time and access to instruction.
