AMES—The Ames High School (AHS) girls’ swim team captured its first state title Saturday in Marshalltown, in a meet that saw state records fall, and new ones set by AHS swimmers.
The swimmers, divers and coach Dan Flannery will be honored at a reception Tuesday, November 9 in the AHS Cafeteria. The reception begins at 8 p.m. and the public is invited. Ames High School is located at 1921 Ames High Drive.
The AHS cheer squad also enjoyed success at the state level this weekend. Competing against more than 50 other teams in the state, the squad finished in 7th place. The team is coached by Sarah Buss.
Congratulations to the coaches and the athletes of both teams for their tremendous successes this weekend!
