AMES HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS GRAB
THE SPOTLIGHT THIS WEEK!

AMES—Monday night’s Ames High School (AHS) gridiron victory over Sioux City East kicked off what promises to be a very exciting week for AHS athletics. The Little Cyclones defeated Sioux City East’s Black Raiders 24 – 14. Ames now advances to the quarterfinals in Class 4A football.

This Friday, November 5, the Little Cyclones will take on Dowling Catholic High School at Des Moines East High School. Kick off is at 7:00 p.m. at East’s Williams Stadium. Tickets for the contest are $6 and will be on sale in the AHS athletic office from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday through Friday this week. Ames High School is located at 1921 Ames High Drive. Tickets will also be available at the gate prior to the game.

Also on tap this weekend: The AHS Cheer Squad, reigning state champion, will travel to Des Moines this Saturday to defend its title. The State Cheer Competition takes place at Hy-Vee Hall, beginning at 8:05 p.m.

The number-one ranked AHS girls’ swim team heads to Marshalltown this Saturday. The swimmers will be competing at the state level in a bid to win Ames High School’s first-ever state title in girls’ swimming. The meet gets underway at noon at the Marshalltown YMCA.

East High School - 815 E. 13th Street Des Moines, IA Take I-235 • Exit East 15th Street and proceed north to Walker Street • Turn right for Williams Stadium.

*Also November 5 & 6: The AHS fall play; Kill Me, Deadly, at 7:30 p.m. AHS Auditorium.
