The next School Board Meeting
is Monday, February 13th, at 6 pm. in the
Multipurpose Room, of Ames High School.


Kindergarten Registration for 2012-13
will be held 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, February 8
4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 9 at
Northwood Preschool Center, 3012 Duff Ave.
Children who will be 5 years old on or
before September 15, 2012 are eligible
to register for kindergarten.

All kindergarten students registered on
Feb 8 and 9 will have equal opportunity to attend
their boundary school. But students registered after
Feb. 9 will not have priority, even if they have a
sibling already attending that school.

Parents who know they cannot attend kindergarten
registration should contact the District Registrar.

Fellows School music teacher’s final project is “Mikado” performance.

AMES—Fellows Elementary students will perform an abridged version of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Mikado” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, at the Ames High Auditorium.

AMES—The Ames High School Symphonic Band will host a joint concert with the Concordia College Band at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 in the Ames High Auditorium.

Ames students take new Iowa Assessment tests.

AMES--Ames students in grades three through eight during the week of Feb. 6 will be taking the Iowa Assessment—an updated, revamped and renamed version of the test previously known as the Iowa Test of Basic Skills.

The test has been aligned to the new state expectations from the Iowa Common Core and field-tested with students.
