Ames High School Student benefits from opportunity to
study Chinese abroad

AMES—Last summer, Ames High School junior Aaron Mann spent six weeks six weeks in, Suzhou, China, immersed in the study of Chinese through a fully funded program that exists for students to pursue seven different languages of interest to the U.S. State Department.

Ames High School hosts World Food Prize visiting lecturer
Dr. Surinder Vasal will speak at Ames High School between 11:45 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15

AMES—Ames High School has been selected by the World Food Prize Foundation to host one of the visiting lecturers for the2014 Borlaug Dialogue event. World Food Prize honoree (2000) Dr. Surinder Vasal will speak at Ames High School on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Ames High School Industrial Technology Teacher Craig Boylan honored with “Teacher of Excellence Award”

AMES—Ames High School teacher Craig Boylan is the Iowa Industrial Technology Association’s  “Teacher of Excellence” for 2014. The Association presented the award, which goes to one Iowa high school industrial technology teacher each year,at the state Career and Applied Technology Conference, Sept. 25.
