  • Technology Training

    The mission of technology in the educational setting is to enhance the efforts of members of the school community to become independent and effective users of ideas and information and develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and personal esteem necessary to grow in and shape a changing society.


  • Information for Technology-related professional development and training for 2011-12.

    A major focus in 2011-12 for the district technology department  will be to provide a significant amount of professional development opportunities that tie to our newly-revised technology and information literacy grade level expectations.

    These opportunities will be delivered in a variety of ways,
    including:

    - On-site staff development courses through Heartland AEA
    - Before and after-school trainings (optional) ACSD Tech Tibits / Calendar
    “ Media minutes” (during building-level meetings)
    - Online: through commercially-produced program
    (such as Atomic Learning)
    - Staff development courses through Heartland AEA include:

    Heartland AEA (http://www.aea11.k12.ia.us) has some excellent online resources available free of charge to AEA 11 schools, including Discovery Education Streaming, EBSCO, SIRS,
    Worldbook Online, Clipart.com, and Atomic Learning. The
    Atomic Learning site has some excellent tutorials on many
    programs, including the Office suite. If you need any help logging
    on to anyof these sites, contact your building’s media specialist.
