  • Academics :
    ITBS/ITED Interpretive Guidance

    • The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB),
section 1118, requires schools and districts to provide assistance to parents in understanding state student academic achievement standards. NCLB requires that the information be disseminated to parents in an understandable format. Interpretive leaflets for each of the required grades (3-8 and 11) have been developed by the Iowa Department of Education.

Ames Community Schools sent home with your student a copy of the leaflet describing the different performance levels on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills and what a student performing at those levels generally knows and is able to do.

The leaflets below include the information that was sent home with students along with the additional information regarding the grade level content standards that are tested on the ITBS/ITED.
