About Ames High School :

17 Ames High School students have been named 2009 National Merit Semi-finalists in the National Merit Program.
13 AHS students were named Commended Students in the 2009
National Merit Program.
In spring 2008, the Iowa ACT State Organization and ACT recognized Ames High School for having a student in the class of 2007 earning a
top composite score of 36 on the ACT college admissions exam.
Ames High School has a Graduation rate of 93%.
ACT avg. of 25 and SAT avg. of 1261.
71% of the Ames High Schools 2004 graduating class enrolled in four year colleges or universities.
An additional 20% continued their educations at community colleges or vocational schools.
Student teacher ratio is approx. 24:1
Ames High Students performance on the ACT and SAT annually
exceed state and national averages.
Ames High School rests on a 74 acre campus which includes a 20 acre natural prairie reserve.
